National Alliance on Mental Illness "Ending the Silence" In-Person

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) "Ending the Silence" (ETS) is a presentation available to the community. ETS engages participants in a discussion about mental health which includes early warning signs of mental health conditions and signs of suicide. Participants learn how to help themselves, friends or family members who may need support by learning about resources that are available. Positive coping strategies are emphasized. The main messages include “It’s OK to not be OK” and “There is No Health Without Mental Health!” This presentation helps raise awareness and change perceptions around mental health conditions.

The presentation includes:
• Early warning signs of mental health conditions

• Signs of suicide
• How to get help for themselves or a friend – Resource packet
• A Young adult living with a mental health condition presents their journey of recovery
